M&A advisory for online travel companies

Online travel M&A has rebuilt steadily since the post-pandemic recovery, with consolidation around major OTAs, metasearch and tours and activities platforms. Strategic buyers and PE platforms have been most active in supply-side aggregators, vertical OTAs and software serving travel suppliers - areas where the strategic logic is the supplier relationship rather than the consumer brand.

The acquirer set is concentrated at the top. Booking Holdings, Expedia Group, Airbnb, Trip.com and the metasearch incumbents run active corp dev programmes against vertical OTAs, supply-side platforms and travel software. Hospitality groups expanding into adjacencies sit alongside them, and PE platforms - Silver Lake (with positions across travel), Permira, Providence, KKR through portfolio holdings and the sponsors behind tours and activities and vacation rental consolidators - back the larger sponsor transactions. Flow has direct access across the strategic corp dev teams and the PE platforms.

Flow team has relevant sector experience and has worked with online travel companies across OTAs and booking platforms, tours and activities marketplaces, business travel platforms, vacation rental operators and travel software providers.
