M&A advisory for SportsTech companies
SportsTech M&A is driven by the digitisation of leagues, clubs and media rights. Strategic acquirers - leagues and league-holding companies, broadcasters, betting operators, ticketing and venue platforms - have spent the last few years locking in distribution and data advantages through acquisitions in fan engagement, OTT, performance data and officiating technology. PE is most active in fan engagement, sports data and venue technology where rights and contracts compound.
The strategic buyer list is short and overlapping. DAZN, Endeavor and its TKO businesses, Sportradar and Genius Sports are the most consistently active names across OTT, data, betting and fan engagement, alongside the major league-holding groups and broadcasters, and PE sponsors including KKR, Apollo, Blackstone and Providence Equity backing sports data and fan engagement roll-ups. Flow has direct access into the leagues, broadcasters and specialist strategics that anchor this universe, which is usually what gets a SportsTech process to a competitive bid.
Flow team has relevant sector experience and has worked with sports-tech companies across fan engagement and sports media, sports data and performance, betting and fantasy adjacencies, ticketing and venue technology, and officiating and broadcast technology.
