VC fundraising for price comparison companies

Price comparison is one of the few fintech-adjacent segments where late-stage VC and growth investors underwrite on profitability rather than growth. The businesses generate cash and trade on EBITDA multiples that growth funds and PE crossovers price comfortably. Round activity is thinner than pure software but priced more rationally, with capital flowing to operators holding leading positions in defined verticals or geographies.

The investor mix is unusual for fintech - operationally minded growth funds and PE-crossover capital lead most rounds, with fintech specialists (Ribbit, QED) participating where the vertical is insurance or credit cards. Corporate strategic participation is limited; the buyers in the segment tend to acquire rather than minority-invest. Flow has direct relationships across the fifteen or so funds globally that will lead a comparison round.

Flow has experience running VC fundraising processes for price comparison companies across insurance, banking and credit cards, lending, energy and utilities, telecoms and travel comparison. Our extensive investor network spans early-stage seed funds, growth-stage investors, and strategic and corporate VC arms.
