VC fundraising for WealthTech companies
WealthTech has been the most cycle-stable corner of fintech fundraising. Recurring fee economics on AUM, long-duration client relationships and strategic interest from incumbents have kept capital flowing through the 2022-24 environment when other segments compressed harder. Round sizes have come in from the peak but the active investor base - specialist fintech funds plus the growth investors pricing the larger platform rounds - has remained engaged across the cycle.
The active investor base is fintech specialists with WealthTech books (Ribbit, QED, Bain Capital Ventures, Anthemis) alongside generalists with enterprise wealth experience (Sequoia, Index, Insight). Strategic capital is unusually meaningful in this segment - the corporate venture arms of BlackRock, Morgan Stanley, Charles Schwab, UBS and Goldman Sachs participate in rounds where a distribution or custody relationship is on the table. Flow has direct relationships across this group.
Flow has experience running VC fundraising processes for wealth technology companies across robo-advisors, digital wealth platforms, advisor technology, alternative investments platforms and retirement and pensions technology. Our extensive investor network spans early-stage seed funds, growth-stage investors, and strategic and corporate VC arms.
