VC fundraising for streaming companies
The streaming venture thesis has narrowed. Pure subscriber-growth stories no longer clear the bar set by Netflix's profitability turn; what's still funded sits in niche-vertical SVOD, ad-supported and FAST with credible per-hour content economics, and the picks-and-shovels around encoding, monetisation and rights.
Capital comes from a mix of media-specialist venture funds, consumer growth investors who underwrite cohort retention and content margin, dedicated media-tech specialists, and the corporate venture arms of the major streamers and media holdcos - including investment vehicles connected to Netflix, Disney, Warner Bros Discovery, Paramount, Amazon and Apple - that increasingly lead later rounds. Flow has direct relationships across these funds and corporate investors, which is what gets a streaming raise into the right rooms quickly.
Flow has experience running VC fundraising processes for streaming companies across SVOD and AVOD services, FAST channels, niche-vertical streamers, sports and live streaming, and creator and short-form platforms. Our extensive investor network spans early-stage seed funds, growth-stage investors, and strategic and corporate VC arms.
